Training practice

Trainees

Many of our trainees are fully qualified doctors who wish to transfer in to General Practice. During your visit you will receive the same quality of care that you would get from your usual GP. However, if you do not wish a trainee to be present at your consultation, please let reception know.

Some consultations may be videoed to help assess the trainee, but only after your written consent has been obtained. The recording will only be used for training purposes; full details of the confidentiality can be obtained from reception.

 

GP net earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean net earnings (average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. This is required in the interests of the greater public accountability, recognising that GP pay is ultimately funded from tax paid by the public. The average pay for GPs working in Guildowns Group Practice in the last financial year was £87,415 before tax and national insurance. This is for 5 full time GPs, 9 part time GPs and 0 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
