Carers

Please contact the surgery if you would like to register as a carer. Click here for a registration form.

 Flexible Appointments

Non urgent advance appointments may be booked either by telephone or on-line. (Your username and password is enclosed). Urgent appointments need to be booked by telephone.  Your details will be passed onto the triage nurse who will allocate you an appointment.

However, we are aware that it may be difficult to secure an appointment on a day or time which fits around your commitments as a carer. Therefore, by mentioning to the receptionist that you are a registered carer the surgery will then endeavour to book an appointment which is most convenient to you.

Telephone Consultations/Home Visits

Should you require a Doctor’s appointment but are unable to visit the surgery due to your commitments as a carer, we are able to offer you either a telephone consultation or if necessary a home visit.  Home visits are not routinely offered to patients who are mobile however, if your circumstances as a carer make leaving the house difficult, then a home visit may be offered at the discretion of the Doctor.

Flu Vaccinations

May we also remind you that, regardless of your age, as a carer you are entitled to receive a Flu Vaccination each autumn.  Please contact the surgery from the end of September onwards and an appointment will be booked for you at one of the flu clinics.

Yearly Health Checks

The surgery is also able to offer you a yearly health check with one of the practice nurses.  This will involve a blood pressure and urine check, together with any general lifestyle advice, including smoking cessation advice if required.

Repeat Prescriptions

These may be requested either in person at your surgery, through your local pharmacy or by going online (see the prescriptions section of the website).

Should you require any advice or support regarding your role as a carer please do not hesitate to contact the surgery on: 01483 409309.
